About
This Community Fund honors two June holidays: Juneteenth and LBGTQ+ Pride month.
Seeded in 2021 by a generous gift from SolaWave, an LBGTQ+ and WOC-owned company, the proceeds from this fund are granted amongst the following organizations supporting the Black LBGTQ+ community:
- Black and Pink: advancing a more just and equitable society by providing low-cost civil legal services and community programming centered in values of social justice.
- Lavender Rights Project: a prison abolitionist organization dedicated to abolishing the criminal punishment system and liberating LGBTQIA2S+ people and people living with HIV/AIDS.
- Transgender District: the first legally recognized transgender district in the world encompassing six blocks in San Francisco, California. Gifts made to the Transgender District will be processed by their fiscal sponsor, St James Infirmary.
