Numan Children’s Home (NCH), a 501(c)3 U.S. non-profit, was established in 2018 to support the children at Numan Orphanage, in Assela, Ethiopia. Following the January 9, 2018 Ethiopian Parliament legislation, which banned all intercountry adoptions by foreigners, children residing at many orphanages in Ethiopia were affected. While local adoptions are encouraged, sadly there are not enough adoptive families for the country's estimated 4.6 million orphans.
We are a “For Impact” organization whose mission is to create an environment to empower orphaned children and women in the Ethiopian community to create long-term change. We want to grow change-makers! Our goal is to create a self-sustaining community that can also give back to its local community through outreach programs.
