Fundacion Plastic Oceans Chile

The ecocinema is our summer programme (every thursday for 10 weeks) for vulnerable neighborhoods in Santiago de Chile that suffer from violence, gangs and general unsafety. Its goal is to recuperate public spaces for neighbors and generate meaningful dialogue through culture and environmental education. We seek your support to cover the cost of production, profesionalize the equipment, include more services for the assistants and hold campaign to invite people to come to the weekly festival.

"Rethink Refill" is our highschool education program that since 2019 has been impacting hundreds of students all around Chile, by teaching them the 7Rs of the circular economy as a solution to the growing plastic pollution crisis. Through interactive education and hands-on action, students lead change in their communities, reduce plastic waste, and inspire others to join the movement for a sustainable, plastic-free future.

Plastic Oceans Chile is a leading foundation dedicated to combating plastic pollution through education, activism and art. We seek to strengthen our team and empower our volunteers so we can keep running our programs and grow. With your support, we can train our team and provide them with the knowledge and skills that they need to lead new initiatives and keep them within our organization, but we also we need to hire new talent to keep developing new programs and collaborations.

Since 2017 Plastic Oceans Chile has been an active advocate for ambitious solutions both in Chile as well as abroad. We organize community dialogues where we map gaps and barriers to effective solutions to local plastic pollution. Over the years we have presented our results at key summits in Chile and globally. By 2025 we plan to attend at least 5 national and global gatherings. Its crucial to keep the pressure on decisionmakers and ensure all voices are heard in these instances.
