Turn It Around (TIA) transforms the lives of people living with HIV (PLHIV) by addressing the intersection of mental health, poverty, and HIV. TIA equips individuals with the knowledge, skills, and psychosocial support to overcome stigma, poor treatment adherence, anxiety, depression, and food insecurity. Through evidence-based, community-driven programs, TIA empowers PLHIV to strengthen mental health, achieve economic independence, and lead fulfilling lives.
With a nutrition-first approach, TIA provides the tools, training, and seeds to grow nutritious, indigenous vegetables-improving food access and promoting climate-resilient farming. Food security is essential to mental wellness: nourishment supports brain health, and stability reduces stress. TIA complements this with peer-led mental health groups and community dialogues, linking participants to resources and reducing stigma.
