El Espectador is a multiplatform media outlet that produces journalism on issues of general public interest, with a special emphasis on in-depth investigative reporting and coverage of current affairs across all formats (text, video, images, audio, multimedia, etc.) and all journalistic genres. It is published by Fundacion El Espectador, an organization whose mission is to promote and support public access to information through the writing, editing, publication, management, distribution, production, and sale of newspapers, magazines, books, brochures, audiovisual works, and similar materials, whether printed or digital. The organization generates content that promotes the protection of fundamental freedoms in accordance with national laws and international agreements, as well as the advancement of transparency, social oversight, education, the fight against corruption and all forms of discrimination, peacebuilding, the development of public policies, citizen participation, and the protection of the environment.
