Camp Moo Gung Hwa is a renowned day camp in Raleigh, North Carolina, catering to adopted Korean-American children. With a mission to foster cultural awareness and boost self-esteem, the camp offers a comprehensive range of classes and activities conducted by members of the Korean community and adult adoptees. From history and language to dance, Tae Kwon Do, music, cooking, and arts and crafts, children are introduced to their native culture, helping them develop a strong sense of identity. The camp traces its roots back to 1993 when a luncheon was organized for Korean adoptees and their families. Building on this success, Camp Hodori was initiated in 1995, culminating in a family luncheon. In 1996, the camp was officially incorporated as Camp Moo Gung Hwa, symbolizing everlasting renewal with the Korean national flower, Moo Gung Hwa. Held annually in July, the camp runs from Wednesday to Saturday, providing a full schedule of enriching activities from 9 am to 3 pm. Additionally, there are optional family events in the evenings, such as gatherings at local Korean restaurants, pool parties, roller skating, or bowling. To enhance the community spirit, Camp Moo Gung Hwa organizes a Children's Day Celebration in May, allowing families to reconnect, discuss camp plans, and participate in traditional Korean festivities. Immerse your child in a culturally enriching experience and watch them flourish at Camp Moo Gung Hwa!.
