Midland Community Theatre, Inc.

The mission of Midland Community Theatre (MCT) is to provide opportunities for all people of all ages to participate in and experience quality theatre arts and education. MCT began in 1946 in a tin Quonset-type hut and has grown into its third facility. The current $5 million facility encompasses two theatres devoted to the performing arts, a dance studio, rehearsal halls and classrooms. MCT also runs the historic Yucca Theatre in downtown Midland which is home to the longest-running summer theatre in Texas, "Summer MuMmers." This nonprofit educational organization has grown from a membership of 250 in 1946 to nearly 4,000. A seventeen-member Board of Governors made up of community volunteers governs MCT. While MCT prides itself in its large, active volunteer base, there is also a highly qualified professional staff of thirteen full-time employees, three part-time employees and three technical interns to help guide the volunteers.
