Ukrainian Red Cross will help rebuild the biggest children's hospital in Ukraine that was damaged in a russian missile attack on July 8th, 2024.

An estimated 4 mln Ukrainians have been left without a roof over their heads, with 1,4 mln housing units being damaged or destroyed. In harsh Ukrainian winter conditions, the absence of proper shelter and warm clothes may quickly lead to hypothermia and death. With the onset of cold weather, the Ukrainian Red Cross made it its priority to prepare vulnerable groups of the Ukrainian population for the upcoming winter challenges.

Ukraine is home to more than 5.5 million children under 14 years old, according to a report by the United Nations Population Fund in April. The data from the International Organization for Migration in Ukraine indicates that more than 1 million children have been internally displaced. 700,000 people are affected due to the destruction of the Kakhovka dam. They require essentials: clean drinking water, food, clothes and hygiene basics. 16,000 people are in the critical flood zone and need evacuation. The Ukrainian Red Cross is working both at the site and throughout Ukraine to help the affected population and alleviate their suffering.
