Indigenous Roots Cultural Center (IRoots) is a coalition of artists, culture bearers, business owners, cultural groups and organizations dedicated to building, supporting and cultivating opportunities for and with Brown, Black, Native and Indigenous Peoples through cultural arts and activism. IRoots began in 2006 from a dance and drum community circle known as Kalpulli Yaocenoxtli and incorporated as a nonprofit in 2015. Our East Saint Paul based center is a multicultural, multigenerational community hub that creates safe spaces for underserved communities to create, organize and thrive. We believe in maximizing the potential of this creative space and infusing intersectional artmaking with professional development that strengthens critical thinking and engages multiple modes of economy.
