The mission of WHO MENTORS YOU INC. is to connect curiosity to discovery and potential to proficiency. This is achieved by supervising and holding accountable the benevolent service and activities of our strongly affiliated volunteers, directing their work toward legally defined exempt purposes¹—for the good of our community, the nation, and the world. This overarching goal is not a solitary, well-intentioned pursuit; its impact ripples outward, touching everything.

WHO MENTORS YOU INC., a Delaware Charitable Nonstock Corporation, is recognized by the IRS as a 509(a)(2) publicly supported 501(c)(3) tax-exempt organization, primarily organized and operated to conduct and accomplish scientific, educational, and charitable² purposes.

The term charitable, as used in its generally accepted legal sense,³ includes advancement of education or science, promotion of social welfare, defending human and civil rights secured by law, and combating juvenile delinquency.

As developed by judicial decisions, the United States Tax Court has held the term charitable embraces "any benevolent or philanthropic objective not prohibited by law or public policy which tends to advance the well-doing and well-being of man." Hutchinson Baseball Enterprises, Inc. v. Commissioner, 73 T.C. 144, 151 (1979), affd. 696 F.2d 757 (10th Cir. 1982).
