Founded in 1922, the Izaak Walton League's mission is to conserve, maintain, protect and restore the soil, forest, water and other natural resources of the United States; to promote means and opportunities for the education of the public with respect to such resources and their enjoyment and wholesome utilization. The League has more than 40,000 members and supporters in 16 state divisions and over 200 local chapters in states nationwide. Our goal is to ensure that America's natural resource base is protected, managed and used to assure the quality of life in the long run.
