Trauma Intervention Programs Inc., founded in 1985, was established to assist the "forgotten victims" in emergency situations. In most emergency situations there are persons with emotional injuries. These victims include family members after a death, children when tragedy occurs in the family, crime victims, and senior citizens who are victimized. Unfortunately, emergency responders are usually too busy with emergency tasks to support these emotionally injured citizens. Tip volunteers are called by emergency personnel to be a "shoulder to lean on" for those who would otherwise be alone during the worst time in there lives. Trauma Intervention Programs Inc. wants to help communities across the country start tip programs.
