Women in Mining Africa (WiM-Africa)

WiM-Africa is a pan-African nonprofit dedicated to protecting children from hazardous mining labor, restoring access to education, and empowering women miners through value addition, safe artisanal mining, fair trade practices, and sustainable livelihoods—ensuring Africa’s critical minerals drive inclusive development and a just energy transition.

Our flagship initiative, Voices of Children from the Pits (VoC), confronts the hidden crisis of child labor in mining by removing children from dangerous sites, restoring their access to education, providing psychosocial and family support, and working with communities to prevent future exploitation.

WiM-Africa is committed to transparency, responsible stewardship of donor funds, and regular impact reporting.
