Crisis Response Fund

There are 120 million people displaced around the world—a number that has doubled in just the past ten years. That’s 120 million birthdays, nicknames and life stories.

In 2024, support is needed now more than ever for the multiple crisis’ currently unfolding globally – This is exactly why the Crisis Response Fund was created by the IRC.

The Crisis Response Fund helps the IRC respond within 72 hours—or sooner—when emergency strikes, to assess needs and rush urgent aid to people fleeing war, violence, or disaster. Funding from the CRF acts as emergency insurance that allows us to ready resources and immediately intervene when a crisis arises and provide protection to affected populations. For example, pre-positioned funding allowed us to send staff to Poland in early February 2022, in anticipation of a humanitarian crisis ahead of the Russian invasion of Ukraine.

In 2023 the Crisis Response Fund helped support over 400,000+ people globally with interventions in over 25+ countries across the world.

You can read more about the CRF’s 2023 Impact in our 2023 Crisis Response Fund Annual Report.
