Welcome to the Ethereum Foundation Academic Research Fund at Endaoment—a community-powered initiative designed to drive forward groundbreaking academic research in the Ethereum ecosystem. By enabling supporters from around the world to donate directly, this fund bolsters the Ethereum Foundation’s efforts to fund research that pushes the boundaries of blockchain technology.

All funds donated to this fund will be sent to charitable institutions that are a part of the Ethereum Foundation grant program, ensuring that your contribution directly supports impactful academic research and community development within Ethereum.

The Ethereum Foundation is proud to support a series of Academic Grants designed to advance and expand the boundaries of Ethereum-related research. Building on the success of previous rounds (2022–2025), our annual call for proposals invites researchers from a wide range of disciplines—including Economics & Game Theory, Theoretical and Applied Cryptography, Consensus & Protocol Design, Networking & P2P, Client Engineering, Security, Formal Verification, and the Humanities—to contribute to the growing body of academic work around Ethereum and its ecosystem.

In 2025, the initiative received an inspiring 550 applications from 25 different countries, a testament to the global academic community’s growing engagement with Ethereum. Moving forward, the aim is to attract even more innovative minds and fresh perspectives, ensuring that proposals not only align with the Ethereum Foundation’s wishlist but also introduce novel approaches to strengthen the Ethereum ecosystem.
